Good
– The host, Smiley, and the other crew. Smiley was great fun and made the trip enjoyable. He always was able to tell us some history behind the various attractions
– The view and the bay itself. “Amazing” in a word.
– We were in a quieter area of the bay so there was barely any boat traffic and not dozens of other junks around us. Very peaceful
– The facilities onboard – excellent rooms, aircon/heating, great sundeck area, etc. Our room faced out the back of the boat which meant we could lie on the bed and watch the rocks go by.
– 3 square meals each day, each with 5 courses
– Kayaking
– Travelling to the floating villages for a tour
– The cave dinner was honestly one of the most amazing things i’ve ever done in my life!
– Easy to organise and book online
– We got a luxury mini-coach on the way home, which was like being in a first class airline cabin. Very schmancy!
Not So Good
– The tour is one of the more expensive ones on offer. Wasn’t a huge issue but just be aware, if you’re on a tight budget
– Rain (obviously not the company’s fault). The mist did add to the mystique however
– There were no real activities planned for between breakfast and lunch, lunch and dinner. I am assuming that the plan is to let the passengers just enjoy the sundeck and scenery…but without any sun and constant rain, most people just went and hid in their cabins for a nap each time
– Frankly I didn’t really enjoy the food that much, it was a Vietnamese but western-influenced menu. But i certainly didn’t starve
– Drinks on board are pretty pricey compared to the mainland, and the bartender should probably stick to just serving beers instead of making cocktails
Definitely recommended
